Job Description Summary: Provides evidence-based prevention services within schools and community settingsby implementing, supporting, and teaching behavioral health interventions and positive mental health practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, child development, education,or related field, required.
  • Appropriate Ohio licensure, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
  • Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
  • Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain persistent and flexible to changes in plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Basic technology and computer software skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child and family development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to connect with available community resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree, preferred.
  • Experience in early learning or school mental health or in education, preferred.
  • Behavioral health experience, preferred.
  • Training and experience with position-specific evidence-based prevention models, preferred.
  • Experience serving at-risk populations and demographically diverse communities, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implements and coordinates evidence-based prevention programs in community, schools, or early care settings to promote positive mental health and prevent behavioral health issues among children.
  • Facilitates data collection and assessment to identify children at risk of developing behavioral health issues and monitor program implementation progress.
  • Provides appropriate support through interventions and referrals.
  • Collaborates and maintains relationships with school staff, caregivers, providers, and community organizations to provide appropriate resources and support.
  • Provides consultation and education on behavioral health topics and prevention strategies.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of child, caregiver, and program progress and outcomes.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in behavioral health prevention and intervention.
