Asphalt Contractors, Inc. is a full-service, self-performing contractor with over 45 years of experience in asphalt paving, concrete work, roadway construction, grading, milling, and asphalt maintenance. We serve commercial, municipal, and DOT clients throughout Southeast Wisconsin and beyond. Our team prides itself on quality, reliability, and delivering projects the right way from the ground up. We’re currently seeking a construction estimator with experience in asphalt, concrete, or civil sitework to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the industry and wants to work for a company that controls its own materials, crews, and production timelines.

Requirements

3+ years of estimating experience in construction (asphalt, concrete, sitework, or civil preferred)
Familiarity with DOT specs and commercial or municipal bid processes
Ability to read blueprints and perform quantity takeoffs
Strong Excel and computer skills
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines
Valid driver’s license and ability to perform job site visits

Nice To Haves

experience with estimating software a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate estimates for asphalt paving, concrete, grading, maintenance, and civil construction projects
Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and bid documents
Conduct site visits and perform quantity takeoffs
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes as needed
Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to understand production methods and costs
Prepare scopes of work and submit proposals on time
Maintain organized records of bids, costs, and historical project data
Support preconstruction planning and value engineering when applicable
