About The Position

The Pavement Sub-Amp Manager is responsible for inspection, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of airfield and surrounding roadway pavements. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of runways, taxiways, and supporting infrastructure. Studies specifications to plan procedures for paving and grounds construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase, based on knowledge of available tools and equipment and various paving and grounds methods. Orders tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Interpret specifications and coordinates various phases to prevent delays. Inspects work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and that schedules are adhered to. Prepares, or receives from subordinates, reports on progress, materials used and costs and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have at least Eight (8) years of paving experience
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Jordan
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on military airfields or aviation related pavements.
  • Familiarity with airfield pavement standards and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of pavement inspection methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency inspections of airfield pavements, roadways, and hardstands
  • Identify pavement distresses (e.g., cracking, spalling, FOD risks) and document findings
  • Assist with pavement maintenance and repair activities, including patching, sealing, and surface treatments
  • Support airfield damage repair (ADR) and rapid runway repair operations as required
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, light construction equipment, and testing devices
  • Collect, record, and input pavement condition data into maintenance or asset management systems
  • Assist with layout, marking, and measurement tasks related to pavement repairs
  • Coordinate work activities with airfield operations to minimize mission disruption
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and security regulations applicable to an overseas air base
  • Support contingency, exercise, and deployed operations as directed
