Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Safety, performs various assignments related to the safety and security of the University of the Pacific’s San Francisco Campus. Essential Functions Assumes fixed post assignments in the following areas of the University of the Pacific’s San Francisco Campus: Clinic/Visitor Entry Monitor patient/clinic access points. Activate entry for authorized individuals as needed. Respond to dispatch control instructions, alarms, and emergencies as required. Provide information to visitors about security matters and handicap parking. Main Entrance Monitor controlled access employee entrance to ensure only authorized personnel are admitted. Respond to dispatch control instructions, alarms, and emergencies as required. Provide information to students, staff, and faculty regarding public safety matters. Provide building access and security for campus events. Command Center Monitor building entry points and activity by closed circuit camera system to ensure safety and security of building occupants. Alert officers of any emergency or situations requiring response. Maintain closed circuit camera systems, security radios and building alarm systems; perform system checks on alarm, access control systems and communication devices, as scheduled. Create/replace and activate access control cards for new or existing faculty, staff and students. Foot Patrol Lock/unlock doors and check secured doors as scheduled. Ensure that doors are properly secured; safeguard property of the University’s campus. Respond to dispatch control instructions, alarms, and emergencies as required. Check building and property for safety hazards and report maintenance issues and emergency repairs. Patrol the interior and perimeter of the campus; observe, take appropriate action and report any unusual occurrence or circumstance. Provide lost and found and other support services for students, employees, and visitors. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety or their designee. This position serves as Campus Security Authority ( CSA ) as outlined by the Clery Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported them.
