The Patrol Corporal provides safety and security to the citizens of Williams County through supervision and participation in law enforcement activities such as patrol, emergency response, and investigations. In the absence of the Patrol Sergeant, or under directive, the Patrol Corporal coordinates and oversees the assigned patrol shift. Examples of Duties: The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. Provides safety and security to citizens in the community through supervising and participating in law enforcement, patrol, civil process service, investigations, and other duties on an assigned shift Enforces local, state, and federal laws, and enforces compliance with local regulations and ordinances, according to policies, procedures, and regulations Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service; investigates, documents, and resolves traffic incidents, crimes, dangerous and illegal activities, and citizen complaints Performs duties of Deputy Sheriff in Patrol as needed and assists Deputies in the performance of their duties; completes detailed reports and required paperwork; conducts follow-up investigations as required Completes detailed reports and required paperwork; performs follow-up investigations as required Maintains the Sheriff's Office's integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards by assuring that all rules and regulations are followed Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code
