About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company with 185,000 employees, is seeking a Patriot Program Quality Lead (PQL) for its Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) division. This role supports the Patriot Product Line (PPL) Quality team, specifically focusing on Software and Training Devices at the Andover and Tewksbury, MA locations, with the primary work location being on-site in Andover, MA. The PQL will partner with quality representatives in functional organizations such as Systems Engineering & Integration and Test, and Software Engineering. The main objective is to ensure process assurance, quality risk management, defect management, continuous improvement, Quality financial and status reporting, and Cost Savings initiatives for Patriot Software & Training Devices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quality mindset, be a self-starter, have proficient communication skills, and the ability to lead teams and collaborate across multiple functions. This role involves proactive engagement with the product line, partnering with Program Leadership, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and the Quality team to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements. Occasional interface with U.S. Government Customers, Foreign Customers, and Suppliers is also expected.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of engineering and quality experience.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working experience in providing technical program support for software development and/or design processes.
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certification.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Clearance: Secret) is required prior to start date and on day 1.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with the program quality teams, programs, suppliers, customers, and Integrated Product Team, supporting technical, quality and financial performance, and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Closely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
  • Manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to self-start, define a problem statement, explain impact, draft a plan, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive solutions.
  • Responsible for: Quality of delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.
  • Improving processes or systems using conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation skills.
  • Periodically report out to leadership teams providing updates on testing and field issues, investigations, status and metrics.
  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
  • Identify when such activities are warranted.
  • Assuring inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
  • Generation of new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Implement APQP as applicable.
  • Lead Financial analysis initiatives supporting program predictability.
