About The Position

The Junior IV&V Engineer supports independent verification and validation activities for Patriot missile system software at the Patriot Software Test Facility on Redstone Arsenal. Employed under the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) team within the S3I Directorate, this role assists in evaluating software requirements, implementation, and testing to ensure compliance with system specifications, quality standards, and program objectives. The position provides hands-on exposure to formal qualification testing, independent analysis, and participation in major program activities supporting mission-critical defense systems.

Requirements

  • Software and/or Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering principles
  • Experience with Requirements Analysis
  • Experience with Requirements Traceability
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, Visual Studio
  • Experience with Test Planning and Execution
  • Experience performing Requirements-Based Testing
  • Experience performing Regression Testing
  • Experience performing System Testing
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience reviewing Requirements Documentation
  • Experience developing Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports
  • Ability to review Code (as needed)
  • Strong Critical Thinking skills - can think outside the box
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently (self-motivated) and maintain objectivity
  • Ability to identify anomalies, risks and make recommendations accordingly
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with software development and other IV&V team members as needed

  • Acknowledgement that no telework option is available
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain if applicable)
  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Information Systems
