About The Position

This is a full-time weekend-only day-shift position working four 9-hour shifts per week. The hours are every Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday from 6:30am to 4pm. The role involves transporting patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. Responsibilities include assisting patients with entering and exiting vehicles, delivering items to staff or departments, and potentially assisting with the transport of deceased bodies to the morgue. The transporter will also greet and provide information to patients and visitors, and may clean and disinfect hospital equipment. The position requires constant alertness and safe work practices.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department.
• May assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
• May clean and disinfect hospital equipment, including intravenous pumps, drips, and monitors, using established cleaning guidelines.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
