About The Position

May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications. Accountabilities Performs responsibilities accurately, timely, and safely for assigned patients/area. Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner. Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation. Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly. Performs basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing and transports assigned patients. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of tech training course as evidenced by Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course or nursing fundamentals from accredited organization required. Medical Assistant Training also acceptable.
  • 1 year nurse tech hospital experience or skilled nursing facility is required if the candidate does not meet all of the educational requirements.
  • Computer experience is required.
  • Must possess skills necessary to care for patients.
  • Heartsaver required.
  • In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former South Carolina CNA certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
  • In lieu of school verification of a medical assistant training course, will accept current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CNA or CMA or related experience preferred.
  • NT: 2 years NT/NA experience is preferred
  • Candidates without the preferred experience are eligible for hire if they meet all of the educational requirements.
