About The Position

The Patient Services Coordinator serves in a dual role supporting both the patient experience and hospital operations. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while also coordinating and dispatching patient transport requests efficiently throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is service-focused, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is divided between Patient Ambassador responsibilities and Dispatcher responsibilities during each shif

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and escort patients/visitors as needed.
  • Proactively round in assigned areas to ensure patient satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Support patient experience initiatives and service recovery when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical teams to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the facility to promote a positive environment.
  • Receive, prioritize, and assign patient transport requests using dispatch systems.
  • Coordinate transport staff workflow to ensure timely patient movement.
  • Communicate clearly with nursing units and departments regarding transport status.
  • Monitor request volumes and adjust assignments based on urgency and workload.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of transport activities.
  • Escalate delays or issues appropriately to leadership.
