About The Position

The purpose of this operating unit/facility-based position is to provide clinical resources across various patient care departments within an Emory Healthcare (EHC) operating unit/facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe environment for assigned patients in the hospital setting.
  • Observe and report any changes in the patient's condition to the nurse accountable for the patient's nursing care.
  • Communicate with patient/family members and all members of the health team to relay appropriate information as part of patient care.
  • Promote a supportive and healing environment to enhance customer and staff satisfaction.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with transportation of the patient throughout the hospital.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with ambulation of the patient.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with bedpan/bathroom functions.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with bathing.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with bed making.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with feeding.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, provide oral fluids to the patient.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, position patients for comfort.
  • Ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the patient's room.
  • Support cost efficient/effective patient care.
  • Comply with Universal Precaution guidelines and all other infection control procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, discard disposable supplies.
  • Under the supervision of the patient's nurse, assist with bedrails, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and bedpans.
  • Float to patient care areas as assigned.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required.
