About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services & locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. The Clinic Registration Supervisor is responsible for training clinic registration staff, maintaining equipment and following through on requests from the Patient Access Manager. Refers problems in work performance to Patient Access Manager. The supervisor is responsible for ordering supplies and recommending changes to the Manager. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining time keeping for employees and ensuring accurate timely approval.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Experience in data entry, word processing, office procedures desirable
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients and visitors
  • Ability to train with accuracy and precision
  • Leader in the area for customer service and attitude
  • Team player/leader

Responsibilities

  • Organizes daily work load to maintain efficient flow of department activity
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload through appropriate delegation of tasks to staff.
  • Maintains department schedule needs; displays cooperative attitude when schedules are changed to meet the needs of the department and the hospital.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with staff, peers, managers, and patients. Interacts with respect for the feelings of others.
  • Demonstrates respect and politeness with visitors, staff and others.
  • Communication skills are utilized to assure clear and concise information exchange between departments and with patient services team members.
  • Ensures that proper policies and procedures are followed in collecting and entering patient insurance information and the pre-certification of admissions, when required.
  • Understands, interprets and adheres to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of the flow of information through the hospital as related to the computer system.
  • Lends general support to staff in areas that fall within the scope of training and capabilities.
  • Responsible for coordinating training for staff with External Education Supervisor and Hospital Patient Services Supervisor
  • Keeps track of needed competencies in this area
