About The Position

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency in Arizona, providing residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness. CBI is a non-profit provider of substance use and behavioral health programs, utilizing cutting-edge, nationally recognized, evidence-based models. The Patient Services Specialist is responsible for the front-end business operations of an assigned clinic, including patient registration, demographic information verification, and electronic chart management. This role involves handling incoming calls, scheduling intake appointments within specified timeframes using the CBI EHR/EPM system, and obtaining necessary patient information such as name, address, phone, email, and insurance details. The specialist also performs insurance verifications for each visit, identifies patient amounts due, and for uninsured patients, identifies potential funding sources and refers them for AHCCCS screening and application. They notify clinical team members upon registration completion and schedule follow-up appointments as directed by the clinical team.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have knowledge of AHCCCS.
  • Must have knowledge of insurance.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare is preferred.
  • 1- 3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the front-end business operations for the assigned clinic including patient registration, verification of patient demographic information, create and maintaining patient electronic chart.
  • Answers incoming calls to the clinic and routes as needed.
  • Schedules intake appointments within established timeframes in the CBI EHR/EPM scheduling system.
  • Obtains necessary demographic information including, but not limited to name, address, phone number, e-mail address, insurance information.
  • Completes insurance verifications for each patient visit and identifies any patient amounts due at the time service is provided.
  • For uninsured patients, identifies any potential funding source, and identifies those potentially eligible for AHCCCS and refers to the eligibility and enrollment specialist for AHCCCS screening and application.
  • Notifies a clinical team member when registration is completed for services to be completed.
  • Schedules follow up appointments for clinic services as indicated by the clinical team.
