The Patient Services Specialist (PSS) will primarily handle clerical duties within a medical clinic. The role is structured into various "stations," each with distinct duties typically performed by one employee per day. However, all PSS employees are expected to assist co-workers with any PSS job duty at all times and will be required to learn and perform all duties across all front office stations. Due to varying office layouts, some listed duties may not be performed daily. Essential skills include strong copywriting and editing, attention to detail, the ability to meet time-sensitive priorities consistently, high organization, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. The position also involves performing other assigned duties and projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • Demonstrated strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet time-sensitive priorities
  • Highly organized with the ability to be flexible, according to changing priorities
  • Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters
  • Good command of the English language

  • Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings
  • Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy
  • Clear results of a thorough background screening
  • Receipt of various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption
  • Pass drug/nicotine testing (FCS is a drug-free workplace, and individuals who use tobacco/nicotine products are ineligible for hire)
