About The Position

Shore Physicians Group is looking for medical professionals who will attend to patients on the phone and in person. Responsible for coordinating and organizing appointments in order to facilitate a smooth transition within a healthcare setting, all while supporting the delivery of quality patient care. General Summary Responsible for completing the following tasks in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner Greeting/assisting patients/visitors. Processing referrals and pre-certifications. Calls patients daily to confirm next day's appointments and prepares charts Verify patient's insurance and obtain necessary referrals and pre-certifications prior to the date of service. Receiving/making telephone calls. Registering new and established patients. Scheduling patient appointments. Complete check-out assuring patient plans, orders, medications, and follow-up appointments are processed prior to the patient leaving the office. Handling collection of patient copayments. Faxing, emailing, photocopying, mailings. Reconciles fee slips and run reports at end of shift or throughout the day. Reliable transportation; Coverage of other practices as needed that will require travel to the alternate location. Comply with HIPAA rules and regulations regarding the protection of the patient privacy. Assist with any additional duties as needed or as directed by your supervisor/manager.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of computers and their functions along with other general office equipment
  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills
  • Effectively work as a member of a team and as an individual
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years' experience in a customer service oriented environment
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, and medical practice services and routines
  • Must be willing to travel between practice locations as needed
