About The Position

Are you passionate about helping kids be their best selves?
UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Casual Patient Services Representative to support the office in Hummelstown.
Weekend and evening availability required to support the hours of operation.
Clinic Hours: 4:30p-9p mon-fri 11:30a-8p sat, 9:30a-6p sun
Registration and billing experience preferred.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with personal computer-based applications, various office equipment, and proficient typing skills preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient Interaction: Greet patients, assist with check-in, collect copayments, and update information.
• Scheduling: Arrange follow-up appointments and connect patients to services.
• Support: Help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide clear instructions.
• Technology: Register patients in Biometrics and promote MyUPMC portal.
• Financial Advocacy: Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to resources.
• Compliance: Verify insurance, obtain consent signatures, and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Admin Tasks: Handle phone calls, scan records, and perform office duties.
