About The Position

The Patient Service Representative will be a resource to the department, patients, families, and health care team members within the scope of their role. They will support the administrative and scheduling needs of the Innovative Delivery Programs including Population Health at Home, Remote Patient Monitoring, Complex and Transitional Care, and other population health programs/initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of recent registration or billing experience working in a medical facility preferred.
  • Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals preferred.
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior as well as a pleasant and poised demeanor and excellent phone etiquette.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • You must be skilled in the use of computers.

Nice To Haves

  • NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answers and fields phone calls and voice mail messages, monitors assigned front desk pools, documents events in patients digital health record, and escalates as appropriate.
  • Faxes, scans PHI into their digital health record, and sorts mail.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments and performs check-in, check-out.
  • Prepares patient charts and information prior to scheduled appointment.
  • Facilitates activation of patient’s MyChart account if not active
  • Supports patient screening for digital remote patient monitoring (RPM) program eligibility (i.e. social, digital capabilities) and facilitates digital RPM program enrollment
  • Orders/ships digital remote monitoring devices and confirms patient receipt.
  • Anticipates problems or issues and solves within the scope of responsibility.
  • Reviews digital RPM patient agreement and ensures signed.
  • Collaborates with patients, care givers, providers, and other health care team members.
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality for all patients.
  • Regularly attends in-services to further develop position and department.
  • Performs all related duties or special projects as assigned/required.
