About The Position

The Patient Services Representative is responsible for enhancing the patient’s overall experience during their visit. The Representative will work directly with patients to assist with the admission and check-in process, review insurance eligibility and financial responsibilities, and schedule appointments. The Representative will be responsible for collecting any patient co-pays or outstanding balances. The Representative will also need to complete other tasks that contribute to the day-to-day functions of the office. Hours of operation are 5am-1pm.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in an office setting
Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Healthcare Customer Service preferred.

Responsibilities

Greeting, educating, and instructing patients through admission and check-in process.
Verify patient information and check-in for scheduled appointments.
Notify patients of insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
Answer telephone and direct calls appropriately.
Schedule patient appointments.
Manage clinical schedules and assist clinical staff as needed.
Monitor account balances, payment plans, and collection reports.
Crosstrain with county patient services staff and help cover county offices when requested.
Perform cash handling responsibilities and daily reconciliation of cash drawer.
Other duties as assigned.
