Esse Health is currently seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative for our South County Internal Medicine office located at 5034 Griffin Road! Summary: The Patient Service Representative's main responsibility will be performing check-in and check-out functions at the front desk, accepting charges and answering patient billing questions, collecting co-pays and balances due. The chosen candidate must project a positive and professional image in all interactions with patients and coworkers. We are seeking candidates who have the ability to multi-task and stay organized, as well as who possess a strong desire to delivery quality customer service! The schedule for this position is 3 days a week: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday will be a required day, but the other two days are negotiable. This is NOT a benefit eligible position.

Requirements

  • ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • strong desire to delivery quality customer service!
  • ability to recognize priority or emergency phone calls
  • ability to communicate effectively with patients, both on the telephone and in person, including patients who are angry or upset
  • ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to sit at a desk and answer the telephone/perform data entry up to 8 hours a day
  • proficient with Windows-based PC environment

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc.
