We are hiring at Starling Physicians, a VillageMD company! The Patient Service Representative greets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately. They maintain an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provide excellent customer service to patients/families. They promptly answer the telephone, direct all calls appropriately, take an accurate message and deliver to the appropriate individual/demonstrates appropriate etiquette. They inform patients of delay in physician schedules, assists with patient comfort while delayed. They post all self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide patient with receipt. They accurately reconcile daily payments and billing slips to the daily schedule. They open and close batches properly, accurately reconcile collections, prepare deposits and document corrections. They scan the insurance card, process insurance verifications utilizing the on-line system, and update the patient account. They update patient information including demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms and financial waivers. They schedule appointments accurately according to department guidelines; using waitlist when applicable, and confirm future appointments as needed. They review Eligibility and Phone report. They schedule and enter orders for diagnostic tests, and procedures, following all appropriate workflows. They work cooperatively with Patient Care Resources and clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations. They complete referrals according to departmental guidelines and properly enter into the appropriate system. They effectively communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor / Manager appropriately and promptly. Additionally, they perform various clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing and mailings. They demonstrate flexibility with various work schedules, cover for other staff when asked including other office locations, and demonstrate the ability to adequately follow downtime procedures.
