About The Position

The Patient Service Representative I is responsible for accurate and efficient patient registration, procedure scheduling, charge transmittals, collections, and procurement. This role requires the use of quality customer service techniques to ensure patient needs are met and maintaining professional interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and co-workers. The representative will also support department operations as needed, perform other assigned duties, and comply with all policies and standards, including those related to maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI) through annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED
  • Customer service experience preferably in the medical field
  • Typing skills – 30 wpm
  • Excellent verbal/communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic computer knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years related experience as a Secretary/Receptionist
  • ICD9 coding and medical terminology
