About The Position

CLS Health is a growing healthcare system in Houston, Texas that is taking a different approach to healthcare. We are a physician-led healthcare group that focuses on providing patients with holistic, multispecialty care. We're a dynamic team on a mission to provide better healthcare options for Houstonians! We are looking for a professional and courteous Patient Service Representative to join our Dermatology clinic located at 2211 Norfolk St. Houston TX 77098. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, coordinating financial responsibilities, and ensuring that our patients have a positive experience when they visit our facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have availability to begin work at 7:00 AM
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to type 65 words per minute (minimum 55 wpm)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of College/University is a plus
  • Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Verify patient information, including insurance coverage and personal information
  • Collect co-pays and other fees from patients at the time of service
  • Ensure the referrals are in the patient's chart before the patient comes in
  • Maintain patient records and ensure that they are accurate and up to date
  • Count cash box and complete cash reconciliation forms. Once close is completed, sign off on EBO report and cash reconciliation
  • Handle patient complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed
