We have an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Service Representative/Medical Assistant to provide coverage at our Norfolk, VA and Kempsville, VA offices (float). The general schedule is Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:00pm, with every 4 th weekend and rotating holidays from 6:45am-12:00pm . Must have strong medical front desk skills. Willing to train the right candidate on the Medical Assistant responsibilities. Requirements
- High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
- Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications; accuracy and speed with data entry is required
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and assist with clerical work
- Check patients in/out, schedule appointments, collect payments
- Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
- Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
- Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
- Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
- Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedure
- Assist with HSGs as needed
- Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
- Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients
