A Brief Overview The Patient Scheduler I is responsible for pre-registering and scheduling patient encounters for provider services and utilizing excellent customer services standards. The purpose of this position is to schedule patient appointments for designated areas according to Tidelands Health protocols. Provides courteous, professional and efficient service to patients and providers. Responsible for accurately completing registration process for all patients including collection of co-payments and patient demographic information. What you will do The Scheduler assures that patients have all information they need so that they will arrive on time and prepared for their procedures and that the hospital has all the information required to bill properly for its services. Receives requests to schedule procedures from physician offices and patients and schedules the procedure according to the availability of the various departments. Provides accurate information so that all departments may view and print the schedule for the appointments daily and maintains open communication with hospital departments regarding schedule changes. Performs various administrative support duties for department/work location. Opens, sorts and distributes all types of mail and correspondence as is necessary and assigned.
