About The Position

Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level II Trauma Center, the hospital cares for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. The Patient Registration Representative will serve as the liaison between patients and the hospital for their upcoming elective procedures, answering any questions and concerns patients may have regarding their visit to Good Samaritan Hospital and pre-surgical testing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Typing skills 40 – 60 wpm
  • Alpha Numeric-5000 Keystrokes per hour required

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and verifying demographics and insurance for elective procedures.
  • Appointment scheduling of patients in Cadence
  • Maintaining endo/colon schedules and creating cases in Optesia
  • Maintaining pain management schedules when needed
  • Registration of patients for pre-surgical testing.
  • Cash posting
  • Scanning
