Patient Navigation Specialist
About The Position
The Patient Navigation Specialist handles referrals for community members requesting assistance with establishing a Conway Regional Healthcare Provider. This position is responsible for the scheduling, sending, and receiving medical records, and communications with all parties required to complete the community referral. This position completes imaging scheduling for Conway Regional Employed clinics via the EMR and notifies patients and providers of respective appointments. The Patient Navigation Specialist secures insurance approval for Imaging Services by collecting patient info, reviewing medical records, submitting detailed requests to payers, and tracking approval and denials. This role also obtains prior authorization for Therapy Services for the Conway Regional Outpatient Therapy Services. The Patient Navigation Specialist must comply with Conway Regional Health System's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education, required
- Previous computer experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
Nice To Haves
- Medical terminology course work or experience, preferred
