About The Position

Responsible for the coordination and management of patient flow operations to meet department needs to ensure an efficient operation of the department by directing functions and activities; interpreting policies and procedures, standards, and regulation as applicable. Demonstrated leadership and excellent knowledge of Huntington Hospital's Customer Service Standards by being a resource role model of the department. Must possess excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of applicable laws, regulation and standards by JCAHO and other regulatory agencies. Provides administrative and clinical support to Department Manager such as new hire orientation, staff development, patient care plan update, communication to staff nurses during shift changes, etc. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed. Meets Qualifications for Registered Nurse Job Description. This position may require flexibility of hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in area of expertise or equivalent service area or demonstrated effective leadership skills and competency in PFC responsibilities preferred.
  • Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required.
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
  • Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Must be willing and able to work in a fast paced, frequently changing environment.
  • Must be willing and able to multi-task effectively to accomplish work assignments.
  • Must be able and willing to take direction from a variety of staff members – sometimes with conflicting directions and deadlines.
  • Must successfully complete a Code Blue Drill every 12months
  • Must complete initial and/or annual standardized procedures and competencies related to: Application/usage and alternatives to restraints; appropriate documentation Pressure Ulcer prevention and treatment Hypoglycemia management Universal Protocol POCT for Bedside Blood Glucose monitoring Regitine/Vitrase Administration Central line PICC line management Wound VAC Lift equipment

  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or related certification
