About The Position

Serves as a strong role model in professional practice as evidenced by strong relationships with staff both internal and external to emergency medicine providing effective communication, appropriate resource utilization, and organizational skills to facilitate the highest quality of patient care. Communicates pertinent information on patient flow activities to appropriate personnel. Monitors volumes and coordinates patient placement utilizing appropriate care areas based on patient acuity. Communicates issues identified to Emergency Medicine Leadership team. Serves as a leadership representative and communicates pertinent information to the Emergency Department leadership team. Assists with the coordination of bed availability with Placement Services to ensure optimal patient care. Coordinates with ancillary departments staff and to address delays. Meets with appropriate staff to discuss delays, provide updates, and facilitate clinical needs through communication with assigned bedside nurse. Utilizes tele-tracking to aid in identifying clean beds in all units and collaborates with charge nurses to facility transfers out of department to other facilities when indicated. Coordinates and removes any barriers to hasten directs patient care for roomed and waiting room patients. Coordinates and removes any barriers to hasten directs completion of providers' orders. Re-directs resources and coordinates transportation to inpatient unit when delays in transport occur and when on capacity black in collaboration with team leader. Gives concise, comprehensive report to on-coming Patient Flow Coordinator Registered Nurse or team lead including status of rooms, critical patients within the Emergency Department, and in-house bed availability, pending dispositions, admissions, transfer, outstanding patient needs necessary for disposition, etc. Oversees prompt discharge of patients and cleaning of room. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)

Responsibilities
