About The Position

At Retina Associate of St. Louis, with locations in Florissant, Des Peres, and St. Peters MO, we have an immediate opening for a Patient Coordinator/Medical Front Desk Administrator at our Des Peres location. The responsibilities include providing the highest level of communication and service to all patients, staff, and management team. The ideal candidate would have strong customer service and communications skills to interact positively with patients. Must have the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple responsibilities and handle interruptions positively. Strong organocation skills. Problem-solving. Compassion to help patients and caregivers. Have an understanding of electronic health records, medical terminology, and HIPPA compliance. Ophthalmology experience would be a huge plus. Must be able to travel to other locations as needed. Previous medical setting experience preferred. This is a Monday to Friday, day-shift position. No weekends and No holidays!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Stable work history in a medical/surgical practice for at least 5 years and a strong insurance background
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and mentor employees
  • Ability to perform and cover for each administrative job manager supervises
  • Must have proficient computer skills
  • Must be able to answer calls in a friendly and enthusiastic manner
  • Must be able to properly triage patient calls
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time accurately and efficiently
  • Must be able to problem solve
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar and writing capability
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Must be self-directed, highly motivated, able to multi-task, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects accurately and efficiently at one time
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Must possess a caring, patient, and friendly attitude
  • Must be familiar with all forms associated with the patient’s medical record (paper / electronic)

Nice To Haves

  • Ophthalmology experience
  • Previous medical setting experience
