About The Position

Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice. The Patient Concierge Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patients and family members at Southwest Urology. This position is responsible for greeting patients, confirming demographic and insurance information, answering phones, provider scheduling, as well as other duties as assigned. Customer service skills and attention to detail are important to this role's success. In addition, they may be asked to assist with clinical support in the Medical Assistant function. This includes assisting with clerical duties and maintaining patient care documentation in medical records. This position is responsible for providing professional care specifically to Urology patients in an outpatient setting. Duties will generally be split up as follows: 70% patient concierge 30% medical assistant

Requirements

  • High School graduate, or equivalent, preferred
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant in the state of Ohio
  • Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an outpatient medical setting, preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Urology experience, preferred
  • Prior EMR experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and families after their appointment with their provider.
  • Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Process requests for records from outside sources.
  • Scan data into document imaging software.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assist with in-office procedures.
  • Provide patients with necessary information to prepare for in office or hospital procedures.
  • Administer patient injections, treatments or medication.
  • Maintain a par level of supplies, ensuring supplies are reordered as needed.
  • Maintaining well stocked patient exam rooms.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile environment.
  • Gather and upload necessary medical records for upcoming patient visits.
  • Serve as communication liaison between provider and patient.
  • Responding to patient messages and calls.
  • Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Perform any other functions as required by management.
