The Patient Care Unit Technician is an integral part of the Patient Care Delivery Team, providing essential support to healthcare providers within the hospital setting. This role serves as the unit’s central point for administration, information, and communication during an assigned shift. Under direct supervision, the technician assists with various aspects of patient care, which may include patient data collection, assistance with transportation, nutrition, and ensuring patient comfort. Key responsibilities also involve maintaining clerical organization within the unit, monitoring admissions, and providing necessary follow-up notifications. The technician is expected to actively contribute to a safe, patient-centered care environment, promoting quality patient care delivery, efficient patient flow, and effective communication among the healthcare team.
