Short Description The Patient Care Technician provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements
- Previous Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association, (AHA) CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
Responsibilities
- Observing and reporting patient condition changes
- Assisting with daily living activities (such as meals and bathing)
- Recording vital signs
- Measuring fluid intake/output
- Collecting specimens
- Transporting patients within the hospital
- Performing one-on-one monitoring with documentation
- Demonstrating computer skills
- Following physician orders
- Using the internal paging and patient call systems
- Additional tasks as needed
