Spine surgery excellence award in 2025 Work Schedule: 7:00am - 7:30pm; Every 3rd weekend requirement Under the direction of professional nursing staff, provides direct patient care. Takes vital signs, checks surgical dressings, aids patient’s with activities of daily living. This role performs blood draws and collects specimen samples. Observes and collects data and communicates about the patient’s status in order to identify needs and provides needed care. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care services team. The 6th floor is a Surgical unit specializing in the care of the patients before and after surgical procedures. Also supports medical overflow. Ratio: 8:1 - 10:1 The surgical patient population we serve includes but is not limited to: Hepatobiliary Colorectal General Surgery General orthopaedics (Total Knee, Total Hip, TMA, BKA, etc) Ortho spine GU (Cystectomy, Prostatectomy, Ileal Conduit, etc) GYN Head and Neck Overview of Department Services The 6th floor Team includes RNs, student nurses, PCTs and Exercise Technicians. We work closely with our rehab partners and have a dedicated therapy gym on the unit. Each service line has dedicated advanced practice providers as part of the surgical team to support enhanced recovery and complex patient needs.
