About The Position

Position Overview Department: Surgery Schedule: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Chilton County Benefits for eligible positions only include: Generous Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and More What You Will Do Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. Assists the operating room staff including the anesthesia providers with certain technical aspects of patient care. Monitors and controls the operating room environment. Cleans and disinfects the surgical suite and/or reusable equipment and supplies. Disposes soiled linen and solid wastes. Cleans anesthetizing location. Cares for ancillary anesthesia equipment. Transports patients, equipment, instruments, specimens and supplies. Lifts and positions patients according to practice standards. Demonstrates an awareness of patient and personal safety. Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living. Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records. Performs certain technical patient care duties in the hospital as directed by the staff nurse such asoxygen setup, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection and EKGs. Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Requirements
