About The Position

Pay range: - Hourly $24.95 - $36.91 This is a .6 FTE, 12-Hour, dayshift position (48 hours in a two-week work schedule, including every other weekend). The Float Pool at Overlake Hospital is a high-performing, energetic, compassionate team who enjoys variety, thrives in an independent environment, and demonstrates high levels of customer service throughout the hospital. We are seeking positive, self-motivated Patient Care Technicians who collaborate well with multiple departments to provide our patients excellent care and an excellent experience. Successful candidates consistently demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude, strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and great communication skills. Float Pool PCT’s are highly flexible, and provide care and/or observation for a diverse patient population in various units, including Medical, Surgical, Orthopedics, Telemetry, and Critical Care. NA-C experience required, and hospital experience and/or nursing school experience strongly preferred. PCT's in the Float Pool enjoy regular training opportunities in a culture that recognizes professional growth and development.

Requirements

  • Nursing Assistant Certification (NA-C) required
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training experience.
  • 1+ year working in a hospital environment as a CNA strongly preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) also required (Overlake Hospital will sponsor this licensure upon hire)
  • Health Care Provider CPR Certification.
  • One year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer familiarity is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.
  • High school graduate and completion of at least one clinical quarter of documented nursing training required.
  • Competency will be verified during orientation via competencies and skills checklist.
  • Maintains requirements to qualify for employment as a Nurse Technician (NT).
  • Must provide documented evidence of current enrollment and satisfactory completion of required clinical quarters in a nursing education program approved by the state board of nursing on commission in the state in which the program is located.
  • Must provide written documentation of current level of education preparation and his/her knowledge and skills.
  • Must remain in good standing with nursing program and provide proof at the end of every term.
  • Registered with the Washington State Nursing Commission as a Nursing Technician is required.
  • BLS Health Care Provider CPR Certification also required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer familiarity is preferred.
  • Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment, record keeping preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in the English language.
  • Exposure to and contact with soaps, sterilants, body substances
  • COVID-19 vaccination requirement: After October 18, 2021 all Washington state healthcare employees, contractors and volunteers will be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 immunization as a condition of employment. You must provide this proof before your first day of employment with Overlake.
