Patient Care Tech - Nurse Residency Unit
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech position is located on the 20-bed Nurse Residency Unit (NRU) at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. The NRU serves 7 med/surg units by onboarding three cohorts of new graduate nurses each year, providing them with a solid clinical foundation in a safe learning environment with experienced preceptors, leadership, and a Nurse Residency Coordinator. The unit is situated in the state-of-the-art new Main Tower. The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, is responsible for providing care to patients across the entire lifecycle. This role requires demonstrating competency with various treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy. Patient ratios on the unit are determined by factors such as volume and acuity of patient needs, with extenuating circumstances potentially leading to adjustments in these ratios.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of patient care experience
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- Certification from a Patient Care Technician program
Responsibilities
