Patient Care Tech (PCT) Training Program in Partnership with SCCC! Additional Information About the Role BJC partnership with St. Charles Community College Dates: Feb. 23 β April 24, 2026 Training/Long Term Placement Location options include: Barnes St. Peter's Hospital, Christian Hospital, and/or Progress West Hospital. PLEASE NOTE: CURRENT BJC EMPLOYEES MUST BE IN CURRENT POSITION FOR 3 MONTHS TO BE ELIGIBLE This 7-week accelerated training program combines classroom instruction, hands-on skill labs and on-the-job training in a clinical practice. The training satisfies the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Program Highlights: Individuals selected for the program will be employed as PCTs during training. Tuition funding is provided by BJC HealthCare. Minimum 1-year employment commitment to Barnes Jewish Hospital required upon completion. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients to ensure a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm. Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.
