Patient Care Tech (PCT) Training Program in Partnership with STLCC! Additional Information About the Role Barnes-Jewish Hospital partnership with St. Louis Community College Dates: Feb. 23 – April 24, 2026 Classroom/Lab: Weeks 1-5 STLCC Florissant Valley, Center for Nursing & Health Sciences, 3400 Pershall Rd, St. Louis, MO 63135. Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Final Skill Checkoff: Saturday, March 28 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Clinical Practice: Weeks 6-9 Barnes-Jewish Hospital, One Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63110. Three 12-hour shifts weekly as assigned 7am-7:30pm. PLEASE NOTE: CURRENT BJC EMPLOYEES MUST BE IN CURRENT POSITION FOR 3 MONTHS TO BE ELIGIBLE This 9-week accelerated training program combines classroom instruction, hands-on skill labs and on-the-job training in a clinical practice. The training satisfies the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Program Highlights: Individuals selected for the program will be employed as PCTs during training. Tuition funding is provided by BJC HealthCare. Minimum 1-year employment commitment to Barnes Jewish Hospital required upon completion. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients to ensure a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm. Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient's condition.
