This is an exciting opportunity for a patient care tech in the Float Pool, requiring flexibility to work in all inpatient units, the Telecompanion program, and additional outpatient areas. This position offers a great introduction to a variety of departments within Bozeman Health. The Patient Care Tech (PCT) in the Float Pool routinely performs tasks in meeting the patient’s physical needs, reports observations and patient comments to the nurse, gives close attention to detail in providing care and reporting patient condition changes, documents I&Os, vital signs, etc., and assists nursing with tasks like hourly rounding. The PCT is self-directed, possesses excellent communication skills, and completes assignments accurately, thoroughly, and with minimal oversight. This role functions as a member of the team to support patient care, which may include the Tele-Companion and Tele-Tech programs. They are responsible for more complex personal patient care duties such as supporting diagnostic procedures, assisting with technical nursing treatments, patient charting, and patient instruction, requiring direct work relationships with patients and participation as a member of the nursing care team. Specific responsibilities include ensuring patient safety as a Tele-Companion, coordinating telemetry equipment as a Tele-Tech, and for Ambulatory PCTs, performing chart review, pre-visit planning, patient intake, managing schedule tracking and referral reports, scheduling appointments, and coordinating prescription assistance and prior-authorizations. Patient Care Techs must have excellent analytical and technical skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate adaptability to change based on evidence-based practice, functioning in alignment with Bozeman Health duties and delegation policies.
