Part of Cleveland Clinic Children’s, the M40 Pediatric Stepdown Unit is dedicated to the care of children of all ages. This team focuses on treating patients with congenital heart disease and a variety of medical and surgical needs, including pre-heart transplant care. The dedicated and highly trained caregivers on this unit deliver world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and always puts patients first. A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm – 7:30pm.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Nice To Haves

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
