About The Position

Leadership That Inspires Excellence: Patient Care Directors Make It Possible Patient Care Director - Neonatal ICU - Full Time Manage the all aspects and daily operations of emergency care at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. Maintain an autonomous environment that inspires nurses to reach their full potential. Mentor and evaluate over 100 FTEs and inspire their continued professional growth. Drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of emergency care and align with hospital wide goals. Regularly assess unit operations and identify process improvement to enhance the patient experience. Assume front line responsibility for unit's fiscal performance, resource allocation, scheduling, staff evaluation and patient care delivery on a 24-hour basis. As a 58-bed Level IV tertiary NICU, we care for newborns who require the highest level of neonatal intensive care including HIE requiring total body cooling, extremely low birth weight premature infants, newborns with complex surgical conditions and neonates with complicated respiratory disorders that might need ECMO. Our Level IV NICU has one of the lowest chronic lung disease rates in the whole country and our center has a world renowned NICU comfort care program as well being a fetal surgery center for neonates with neurological conditions like myelomeningocele. As a magnet designated children's hospital, we take pride in our highly skilled clinical nurses who offer the most current and evidence-based family centered care to our tiny patients This is a full time mid shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

Requirements

  • At least three years of Level IV NICU experience
  • Four years of leadership experience
  • BCLS and NRP
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current NYS RN licensure (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of leadership experience in a NICU or within a large academic medical center
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading unit development
  • Experience with union environments
  • National Certification
