About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant functions as an assistant to the Registered Nurse performing routine procedures under his or her supervision. The PCA provides nursing support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Requirements

• Licensed EMT or Paramedic
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with high school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS

Nice To Haves

• one (1) year of patient care experience in a clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing patient meals in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
• Performing activities of daily living based on the needs of the patients: feeding, bathing, toileting, ambulating
• Implementing patient care activities as assigned, according to practice standards, and in a timely manner
• Utilizing downtime as productively as possible, to include aiding in the Emergency Department
• Supporting any other duties that can create efficiencies within the workflow and/or as assigned by manager
