The St. Luke’s Central Staffing Department provides support to the Network Campuses as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels which allow our PCA's to provide top quality care to our patients. The Network Float (Central Staffing) PCA is an experienced professional motivated by the challenge of providing care to patients in clinical settings across the network. The PCA is responsible for providing patient care and participates in data collection, planning and implementation of patient care. - The Network Float (Central Staffing) is an experienced PCA that works in an Acute Care (Med Surg) setting and will travel to multiple campuses based on assignment at time of hire. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an in-patient hospital setting required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of recent experience in an in-patient acute care setting (hospital).
  • Obtain BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment or transfer to position.
  • Basic computer skills .
  • Attend St. Luke’s University Health Network APC and MT courses or evidence of previous training determined through competency testing.

  • Health care specialty training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the following tasks as assigned: Vital signs, Intake and output measurements, EKGs, Glucometry, Phlebotomy, Specimen collection, Documentation for all assigned responsibilities.
  • Follows treatment plan as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Performs necessary functions to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction with service.
  • Performs patient mobilization using appropriate and proper body mechanics and assistive device.
  • Accepts responsibility for providing safe, appropriate , quality patient care.
  • Communicates changes in patients’ conditions and unit concerns with the unit based team.
  • Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs as well as timely completion of competencies.
  • Assists in orienting and educating new staff.
