About The Position

JOB SUMMARY The Patient Care Assistant completes patient care and Appointment Coordinator functions in addition to assisting a designated area with setting goals and ensuring best practice. This individual may assist with referral dispositions to ensure provider referrals are handled appropriately. The Patient Care Assistant will provide day-to-day coordination of a specific area to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the operational functions of the area. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: Diploma or Associate degree in a health care related field. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keyboard, computer, and telephone proficiency. Preferred/Optional: Experience with customer service in a health care related field. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
