About The Position

The Patient Account Representative serves as the hospital’s primary contact for all patient billing inquiries. Provides information regarding hospital billing practices, policies, and patient billing statements. Responsible for receiving cash payments, issuing receipts, and posting cash payment data.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with medical billing/collections and healthcare insurance
• Experience with analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from various insurance companies
• Basic knowledge of insurance processing technology
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to comply with procedural guidelines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word

• Demonstrate proficiency with relevant hospital software applications

• CRCS certification within one year of hire date

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in healthcare billing, collections, or payment processing
• One (1) year experience in accounting or handling cash and/or cash reconciliation in a healthcare facility or hospital
