About The Position

We are seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to join our team! Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to some of the area’s most vulnerable populations. The organization is looking for an individual to join the team in our Billing Department. This individual will be responsible for assigned aspects of revenue cycle management related to the billing and collection of payments for services provided to patients. Follows departmental procedures to carry out the billing process and to post payments received from insurance and patients. Monitors accounts receivable, following up on outstanding claims, and contacts patients regarding outstanding balances. This opportunity has a generous compensation package. Requirements

  • High school diploma or (GED) required.
  • Prior billing/accounting experience and working with an Electronic Health Record system (EHR) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one –on –one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to consistently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounts Receivable software, spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
  • A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of the role of Federally Qualified Health Centers as a safety net for all persons without regard for their ability to pay for services; appreciate patient-centered care in a medical home; and be committed to quality, comprehensive services through a team approach.

Patient Health Information (PHI) and Employee Information is confidential, only the minimal amount of PHI or Employee information necessary to accomplish the internal purpose is to be shared or released.
  • Ability to keep receptive to change and new ideas for improvement of work processes. Ability to consistently follow instructions, both verbal and written, as well as established policies and procedures.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to fingers, handle or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
