Job Description: Respond to and address queries raised by the offsite RCM team relating to patient insurance coverage, authorization issues or coding questions. Assist with prior authorizations to ensure patients are receiving timely care. Communicate with the patient regarding any delays or denials. Enter daily charges, review for accuracy and appropriateness. Meet on site with patients related to insurance verification, coverage or balance issues and questions. Proactively reach out to patients with balances to attempt collection. Assist patients with resources for financial assistance when appropriate. Maintain accurate and up to date patient account records in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and organizational standards related to confidentiality, documentation, and compliance. Other responsibilities as required by the Director of RCM.
