About The Position

The Patient Accounts Representative - Payment Poster performs a variety of duties related to the posting of patient/insurance payments and adjustments at Estes Park Medical Center. This position promotes revenue integrity and reimbursement for the organization by ensuring timely and accurate posting to accounts. Additionally, this individual follows departmental policies, productivity and quality control measures that support the organizations operational and mission goals.

Requirements

  • High school level or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in hospital or physician billing and/or patient access.
  • Detail Oriented, Excellent people and organizational skills.
  • Computer literate in Windows and Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of Meditech/Allscripts/Epic software beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews insurance explanation of benefits/patient payments and posts payments, adjustments and denials to the billing system daily.
  • Performs EFT, ERA, check and cash payment reconciliations and completes deposit reports daily.
  • Reconciles payments posted with general ledger and with the bank daily.
  • Investigates unidentified cash and resolves misdirected payments.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement efforts on an ongoing basis, establishing goals with supervisor and tracking progress.
  • Works closely with accounting department to reconcile all daily cash transactions.
  • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness by making recommendations and communicating trends and issues to supervisor.
  • Participates in committees as assigned.
  • Performs in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulatory agency standards.
  • Performs in accordance with organizational vision, mission and goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.
