About The Position

Reporting to the Patient Access Manager. Trainer is responsible to ensure development and support in areas such as EPIC workflows, instructional design and delivery, conflict resolution, as well as to orient new department staff. Drives change and make recommendation to Financial Counseling leadership regarding training processes, Epic workflows. Identifies and delivers innovative solutions to improve services. The Trainer will have demonstrated proficiency in the skills sets required to support workflows and assist with the identification of technical issues with Epic and other peripheral application. Advises on training strategy, curriculum development, training delivery, and logistical application within their assigned portfolio. Participates in integrated training solution development and to support education efforts for new and updated applications and systems. Manages assigned projects to completion, including task and timeline development, deliverable creation, and communications. Understands the implementation of New Epic functionality and enhancements, working with the training team and leadership. Assists in ensuring the team understands and implements the enhancements. Leads training team initiatives such as process documentation. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understands financial assistance functions.
  • Knowledge of financial assistance programs such as Medicaid, Charity Care, 501r, NJPLIGA guidelines
  • Knowledge of payor/eligibility websites such as NJMMIS, OneSource, Novitasphere, Availity, Navinet
  • Working knowledge of EPIC applications /systems utilized, financial assistance module.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to research and organize information with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent, clear-and-concise oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in classroom training strongly preferred.
  • Experience in EPIC strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Insurance strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Hospital Financial Assistance experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital Registration strongly experience preferred.
  • Hospital Billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training via classroom or virtual depending on the type of training.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining training documentations as needed.
  • Assist with resolving and supporting team members via email, Teams or over the phone.
  • Go on-site to orient new department team members on role specific duties and observe workflow.
  • Assist with training and go-live support for all new projects and initiatives.
  • Supports department goals and process improvement initiatives.
  • Must be able to travel to other locations for training purposes.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.
