Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is seeking a Patient Access Scheduler III to join our Operating Room team! The Patient Access Scheduler III Coordinates and supports patient access to care by managing inbound and outbound calls in a contact center setting. Schedules surgical procedures in Epic Hospital Cadence and Epic OpTime in collaboration with clinical departments following established protocols that promote patient and physician satisfaction and schedule efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mastery of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes required.
  • Knowledge of Epic electronic health record required.
  • Minimumof3 years' experience in a business office or healthcare setting required.
  • Ability to proficiently use a computer and type required; experience with the electronic medical record required.
  • Knowledgeof grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.
  • Knowledgeof computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Attentionto detail to ensure data integrity.
  • Excellentwrittenand oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Excellentlisteningskills, eye, hand and auditory coordination.
  • Willinglyaccepts changeandproactively offers ideas and suggestions.
  • Abilityto work cooperatively and effectively with providers, patients, staff and the public.
  • Possessesa high degree of accuracy.
  • Abilityto establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
  • Abilityto work independently, with minimal supervision, under pressure, with time restraints.
  • Ability to cope with rapidly changing demands for records (fast-paced work environment).
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files, and other correspondence.
  • Abilityto maintain confidentiality regarding all phases of work.
  • Knowledgeof federal and state laws regarding HIPAA and release of information.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business Administration or Health Care Business Services or other applicable areas strongly preferred, bachelor's degree preferred.
